May 11

Saturday 10 AM. Riverside Wildflower and Plants Walk with Stephanie Bergman, who holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Carpooling is encouraged. Meet at ELT property (a field) on Rt. 71 which is .8 miles north/west on Rt 71 from the N. Egremont Store. You’ll see our ELT sign on a post there, on the right. Pull well off the road to park. Free.

May 19

Sunday noon. Annual benefit Spring Luncheon at the Old Mill Restaurant in South Egremont. Members will receive invitations. Guest speaker will be Lucinda Vermeulen, Egremont resident and owner of Kenver Ltd.

May 26

Sunday 9 AM. Invasives Walk with Patrick Riordan. Patrick, an Egremont resident, is a 2018 graduate of Berkshire Botanical Garden Level I Horticultural Certificate program. Meet at parking lot at Jug End State Reservation. Free.

June 1

Saturday 7:30 AM. Spring Bird Walk with Brian Kane. Brian is an associate professor of commercial arboriculture at UMass Amherst, and he is passionate about bird watching. He is the author of a scholarly study on tree-cavity-dwelling birds. Meet at parking lot at Jug End State Reservation. Free.

Sept. 7

Saturday 11 AM. French Park, rain or shine. Annual, free, nature-oriented event with speaker Jennifer Leahey of Nature Matters, a non-profit based in Lee, MA. Her presentation, “Animals and Us: Exploring our Connections”, will reflect Nature Matters’ mission of fostering understanding and appreciation for the natural world through direct experiences with live animals and the outdoors. Time spent with animals and nature is good for all of us, and good for the places we share and for our planet. Jennifer will bring with her a variety of animals. All are welcome!

Sept. 7

Saturday noon - Annual ELT meeting at French Park, North Egremont. Our brief business meeting will be followed by a lunch provided by ELT. We welcome all interested residents to our annual meeting.

Oct. 5

Saturday 10 AM. Tree Identification Walk with Tom Ingersoll at French Park, North Egremont. Tom Ingersoll is passionate about trees and their care, and he loves to share his knowledge by offering workshops and tree identification walks.  He is a CT and MA Certified Arborist and an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist.  As a person who gives back to our community in a big way, he is on the Board of Directors of the Sheffield Tree Project and the Board of Trustees of the Berkshire Botanical Garden.  His business, Ingersoll Land Care, is based in the southern Berkshires.Free.
