Free Riverside Wildflower and Plants Walk with Stephanie Bergman, who holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Carpooling is encouraged. Meet at ELT property (a field) on Rt. 71 which is .8 miles north/west on Rt 71 from the N. Egremont Store. You’ll see our ELT sign on a post there, on the right. Pull well off the road to park. Egremont Land Trust’s annual meeting at the barn at April Hill, home of Greenagers, 62 N. Undermountain Road, South Egremont. All are welcome to this free nature presentation, called “Animals and Us,” presented by Jen Leahey, founder of the non-profit organization Nature Matters.
Jen will bring with her an owl, turtles, a snake, and chinchillas. Beginning her career as curator of education animals at the Museum of Science in Boston, she has dedicated more than 35 years to connecting people with animals. Her non-profit provides live animal experiences for communities in western MA. She holds state and federal permits to maintain rehabilitated wildlife for education and is committed to the premise that preserving our natural world begins with awareness, empathy, and understanding.
After the presentation, ELT will conduct its brief business meeting, followed by a lunch provided by ELT. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
