Invasive Loosestrife Removal — Volunteers welcome!

ELT is partnering with Greenagers on a project to remove invasive purple loosestrife from one of the properties we own, a wetland site known as The Fen, located on Baldwin Hill Road N/S (across from a fire pond) just south of the Stop sign where the road intersects with Townhouse Hill Road.

Although pretty to look at, loosestrife has become a noxious weed across the US, particularly in the Northeast. It is found along waterways, marshes and wetlands where it takes over, leaving less and less habitat available for native wildlife to nest, eat and breed. It also reduces water flow, causing water quality to decline.

Please drop by or honk your horn to encourage the Greenager crews and our ELT volunteers, all made possible through your generous donations. If you have questions, please contact us.
